Physical Education Leadership Trainings

In addition to providing top quality conference programming at the NCAAHPERD annual convention, the Physical Education Assoction(PEA) holds two additional annual events - the Fall Physical Education Leadership Training and the Spring Physical Education Leadership Training. Commonly referred to as the Fall and Spring PELTs, these two events routinely feature the nation's best physical educators and presenters!

The Fall PELT is held in September at the Trinity Center in Salter Path, North Carolina. Attendees not only participate in a variety of new and exciting games, fitness activities, and lessons combined with unforgettable fellowship and memorable traditions, but do so in a pristine maritime forest on North Carolina's Outer Banks. The Spring PELT is the state's oldest gathering of physical educators. This April event is held at the YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly in Black Mountain, North Carolina. Attendees participate in professional development and earn continuing education credits in a beautiful mountain setting. The YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly is a unique blend of modern facilities and historic structures surrounded by 1,200 acres of hiking trails, mountain streams, and tennis courts. The Town of Black Mountain has something for everyone: pottery and jewelry, outdoor adventures, good food and entertainment, and even a General Store that has everything! Physical Education Association Awards

The PEA awards are presented at the NCAAHPERD Convention in November! Come and join us as we honor our award winners! We are very proud of them, and we know you will be too!

Nominations and applications for PEA awards are accepted at all times of the year, however the deadline is July 1 of the current year. Nominations or applications made after that date will be considered for the following year.
