The 66th Annual NCAAHPERD-SM Convention will be held at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, North Carolina on November 20-22, 2014. The theme for this year's convention is "Inspire a Generation." With one of the largest memberships in the country, North Carolina AAHPERD-SM provides a unique opportunity to renew and refresh your teaching methods and professional outlook.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Tom Appenzeller will be the speaker at our first annual Bill Russell Keynote Address during our NCAAHPERD-SM convention, November 21 and 22 in Raleigh, NC.  Dr. Appenzeller has served over 30 years in public schools and higher education and is currently an associate professor and Director of Sport Management at Catawba College.  Prior to his work at Catawba College he worked at Wingate University from 1989-2011 as the chair of the physical education department and later as the coordinator of the sport management program.  Dr. Appenzeller has been instrumental in the sport management world, obtaining program approval at Wingate University and as a leader in bringing sport management to NCAAHPERD-SM.
We will have many great presentations and events going on at the convention this year. The convention will have a new format with each day full of sessions on Friday and Saturday, and pre-conference workshops all day on Thursday.  Friday we will have our annual Awards Luncheon and on Friday night we will hold our Second Annual Casino Night and dance. 

The Raleigh Convention Center is located in Downtown Raleigh at the end of one of the most dynamic streets in Raleigh, Fayetteville Street. Fayetteville street is full of restaurants, bars, clubs, museums and events. The Marriott is connected to the Raleigh Convention Center via a tunnel.
