NCAAHPERD recognizes outstanding teaching and professional involvement by selecting and honoring teachers and/or professionals of the year in several categories. In some instances, those receiving such recognition advance for similar honors in the Southern District AHPERD and then on to the national awards at AAHPERD.
Members are encouraged to honor and recognize their colleagues by nominating those qualified for a NCAAHPERD award. Nominations can be made online, or you can print out the appropriate form and mail it with the required information to the address provided. Please note that each award has specific criteria and nomination procedures.
In order to be considered for an Alliance or Association award, in most cases, a person must be an NCAAHPERD member. However, nominees for Principal and Superintendent of the Year Awards are not required to be NCAAHPERD members. To be eligible for competition beyond the state level, award recipients must be members of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
